Canadian Coast Guard search and rescue exercise in Parry Sound, Ontario

The Canadian Coast Guard will carry out a search and rescue exercise on May 26, 2026, in Parry Sound, Ontario.

The exercise will feature partners from the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary, the Royal Canadian Air Force 424 Transport and Rescue Squadron, Parry Sound Emergency Medical Services, and the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre Trenton.

The exercise will be carried out during the daytime near the Canadian Coast Guard Base in Parry Sound and surrounding waters. The public can expect to see multiple vessels and aircraft throughout the area. There is no real emergency or danger to the public.

Training exercises help crews from different agencies maintain a high level of emergency preparedness. They contribute to improved interoperability, communication, and coordination in high-pressure situations to keep Canadians safe.
