Invitation to media - Member of Parliament Steeve Lavoie to announce Government of Canada support for two Quebec businesses affected by tariff situation

Beaupre, Quebec, May 19, 2026 - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)

The Government of Canada is taking action by supporting businesses as they diversify their markets in order to reduce risk, strengthen their economic resilience and consolidate their competitiveness to help them face tariff pressures.

It is in this context that Steeve Lavoie, Member of Parliament for Beauport-Limoilou, will announce CED funding for two aluminum industry businesses under the Regional Tariff Response Initiative (RTRI).

The announcement of this CED financial contribution will be made on behalf of the Honourable Melanie Joly, Minister of Industry and Minister responsible for CED.
