This June, keep streaming Canadian on NFB, with premieres, curated channels for National Indigenous History Month and Pride Month, and a wealth of new short films.
New this month on NFB
- The streaming launch of the feature documentary Siksikakowan: The Blackfoot Man by Blackfoot Siksika Nation filmmaker Sinakson Trevor Solway, an intimate exploration of Indigenous masculinity rarely seen on screen.
- St. John's artist, poet and designer Duncan Major's Imprint is a heartfelt animated short about the lasting creative bond between two kindred spirits.
- June also brings the Governor General's Performing Arts Awards, with cinematic tributes celebrating Canada's performing arts legends.

- Fresh off their wins at the Canadian Screen Awards: Chris Lavis and Maciek Szczerbowski's The Girl Who Cried Pearls (Best Animated Short) and Wanda Nolan's The Muse (Best Short Documentary).

- Figuring out who you are is messy-especially when the world is telling you you're "not non-binary enough." Don't miss the final four chapters of the docu-series In the Closet, written, directed and hosted by Ajahnis Charley, a Black, non-binary writer, filmmaker and comedian based in Toronto.
- Host, screenwriter, radio producer and television commentator Anne-Lovely Etiennebrings her unique voice to the second installment of ON FILME-a multi-format initiative to spark meaningful dialogue around today's sociopolitical issues.
Both of these projects will also become available on NFB at a later date.

Through unfiltered moments and revealing conversations set against the breathtaking landscape of the Prairies, the film reimagines what it means to be a Native man.

- Amplifying voices, informing thinking, enriching debate-the second edition of ON FILME features versatile communicator Anne-Lovely Etienne. A print journalist and columnist, as well as a dynamic presence across broadcast and online platforms, Anne-Lovely is a strong, engaged voice who's been recognized by the Gala Dynastie and the Canadian Newspaper Awards.
Starting June 6 | Governor General's Performing Arts Awards
- For the 18th year, the NFB has brought together filmmakers, producers and creative teams from across the country to create short cinematic tributes to Canadian performing arts legends, as the Governor General's Performing Arts Awards (GGPAA) honour seven new laureates. These innovative film portraits will begin streaming immediately following the GGPAA Show at the National Arts Centre, at 9 p.m. ET on NFB, Apple TV, CBC Gem (in English) and ICI TOU.TV (in French).
- NFB also features the complete collection of all 133 GGPAA films.

- Chance encounters can leave a lasting imprint, like ink on paper. At 13, Duncan Major met artist Tara Bryan and discovered a shared passion for letterpress printing that shaped his life. In her memory, Major created Imprint, using the letterpress and craft material she passed down to him. This poetic animated film brings hand-printed art to life with vibrant animation, evocative imagery and a beautifully designed soundscape.
