Winnipeg, Manitoba - On May 4, the Honourable Francois-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Finance and National Revenue, will visit the Winnipeg Canadian Forces Base where he will highlight the government's federal investments in the defence sector announced in the government's Spring Economic Update. The Minister will also meet with the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce, where he will address the business community, outlining key highlights in Spring Economic Update 2026. A fireside chat will follow.

The Minister of Finance and National Revenue, will tour the Canadian Forces Base Winnipeg facility, meet with officers and hold a press conference. A media availability will follow.

The Minister will speak with Chuck Davidson, President and CEO of the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce, about the Government of Canada's plan to face global uncertainty with fiscal responsibility and strong economic choices, as outlined in the Spring Economic Update 2026. The Minister will take questions from the media after the event.
