Government of Canada appoints interim Master of the Royal Canadian Mint

The Government of Canada is committed to appointing highly qualified candidates who can best serve the interests of Canadians, through open, competency-based selection processes for all Governor-in-Council appointments.

In keeping with this commitment, the Minister of Finance and National Revenue, the Honourable Francois-Philippe Champagne, announced the interim appointment of Simon Kamel as Master of the Mint for an 8-month term. A selection process is currently underway, and a permanent Master of the Mint will be announced when it concludes.
