For over 6 million Canadians and counting, the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) has become one of the most significant social programs of its time.  The CDCP is making life more affordable by saving eligible Canadians an average of $900 per year on their health care services.

Today, the Honourable Patty Hajdu, Minister of Jobs and Families and Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Northern Ontario, is reminding CDCP members that they will need to renew their enrolment in the plan for the 2026-27 benefit year. Renewals will be open from April 15 to June 1, 2026, and it is a fast and easy process that can be completed online or by phone.

To start this process, existing plan members must have filed their taxes and received their 2025 Notice of Assessment from the Canada Revenue Agency. To renew their CDCP coverage, members will need to re-attest that they:

  • do not have access to private dental insurance;
  • have an adjusted family net income lower than $90,000 based on their (and, if applicable, their partner's) most recent tax information; and
  • are a Canadian resident for tax purposes.

Renewing enrolment in the CDCP no later than June 1 will allow plan members to remain covered under the plan without any interruptions.

The enrolment for new plan members and those who didn't renew on time opens on June 2.
